2)        The competition will consist of two separate rounds: primary and finals. The primary round will be judged by audio or video recording.  No
more than one hundred competitors will be advanced to the final round.

3)        All stages of the competition may be recorded and/or video recorded as authorized by the competition organizing committee, which retains
the exclusive rights of all audio and video recordings.  Recording or video taping during the competition is strictly forbidden.

4)        The competition is divided into two separate categories, the Solo Category and the Concerto Category.  Competitors may participate in
either category or both.

  •        Solo category: Each pianist will perform two pieces.  The first will be a piece from the Baroque or Classical period (a single movement
from a classical sonata is acceptable); the second piece will be a piece from the Romantic period or twentieth century. The total performing
time for Groups A-E may not exceed 10 minutes. The total performing time for Groups F-J may not exceed 15 minutes.  Both pieces must be
performed from memory. Each competitor should provide the original scores for the judge at the time of the competition (no photocopies
    allowed).

  •        Concerto category.  Each pianist will perform one movement from a concerto from any stylistic period. The participants in the concerto
competition should provide their accompanists. If necessary, the Organizing Committee can provide an accompanist ($300 additional fee will
    charged).
