Michael Wells was born in Chester, a town in the United Kingdom with a history
stretching back to Roman times, in April 1996. Michael showed interest in the
piano and started to take piano lessons when 5 years old after listening to a series
of summer performances introducing the works of composers such as Chopin and
Beethoven. Since young, Michael took ballet training and danced, and has
performed in the “March of the Toy Soldiers” from the Nutcracker Suite.
Awards:
2006: Honor roll in National Guild Piano Audition
2007: Honor roll in National Guild Piano Audition
2007: First Place Winner in the Concerto Repertoire section of the Third U.S.
Beacon International Youth Piano Competition.
2008: As Music Ambassador gave charity concert performances.
2010: Honor roll in ABRSM exams Grade 5 Theory of Music and Grade 8 Piano.
2011: First Place in the 6th United Young Musician International Piano
Competition
Michael enjoys playing piano for local seniors with restricted mobility. Through
this he felt the power of music to help other people.
Academic:
2007 – 2011: National AP scholar with 9 APs with score 5.
2010: Gold medal in the American Classical League’s National Latin Examination
2011: Second Place Winner in the National Physics Bowl competition.
